How to add a post about the day ?
So first, you have to create a post.
Then, you have to put a title and click on : Edit with Elementor. You can also edit directly in the block section (where it’s written: Start writing or type / to choose a block) : it’s more or less the same. If you choose to don’t use Elementor, you can skip the part below and click here.
On the left of your screen, you should see a new menu. Here, it’s in french but it should be in English for you. From here, you can add whatever you want: text, videos, picture, carousel… Let’s say you want to say a little something for the families. You have to search for text bloc, and then drag & drop it in the + section.
You can directly edit the text in the box, just click on it. When you’ve finished, you can also add pictures for instance. You do it the same way as you did for the text, but here, you select a photo bloc. Here, you just have to select a picture. To import a picture on WordPress, again it’s easy: just drag & drop your picture from your computer.
When you are all set, don’t forget to click on the Green button : Update !
THen, let’s go back to the WordPress Editor. Simply click on the Hamburger menu (the menu with 3 tabs) on your top-left corner of your screen, and then click on : Go back to WordPress Editor (the Blue button)
Here, you have 3 importants settings to change :
- The privacy of the page (putting the same password of the connection)
- The category, to be set in fonction of your need
So first, the password.
Go on : document -> Status & visibility -> Public -> Password Protected -> Type the same password of your private area.
For instance: If you are managing InterAction France posts, the password should be: camembert=123. Be aware that the password may change in the future (in 2021 maybe), so we can make different pages for the Camp 1 and the Camp 2.
Then, scroll a bit on the left of your screen, to see : Categories. Here, just check the box that suits your need. (for instance: if you are publishing a post of InterAction France 2020 Camp 1, check the corresponding box.)
Note that the screenshot below isn’t up to date ! The categories : « IA France 2020 English » and « IA France 2020 Français » have been changed to « IA France 2020 Camp 1 (10-13) » and « IA France 2020 Camp 2 (14-17)« .
Then, you can Publish or Update your post ! The content is now available for the families.
